About the event

As a teacher, you are tasked with taking on multiple roles – nurturer, therapist, social worker, conflict negotiator and behaviorist, in addition to your primary role in educating children. Mindfulnss provides strategies to help you stay present, connected and focused. 

Objectives:

  • Establish habit of practicing mindfulness for personal stress reduction and to prevent burnout
  • Learn how to teach mindfulness to youth of any age
  • Deepen a culture of inclusion and diversity in your classroom
  • Understand brain development and ways to optimize learning strategies
  • Realize the impact of screen use, stress, anxiety & trauma on the ability to teach, learn and remember information
  • Develop a strengths-based, healing-informed approach to learning
